Voorhees Middle School is fortunate enough to supply all students and staff with district Apple iPads. It has revolutionized our educational environment and school culture. However, many teachers and parents are unfamiliar with other iPads accessibility functions, which could enhance their teaching and aid even more!
Guided Access- A Dream Come True
One accessibility tool that every parent teacher and parent should know is "Guided Access." With Guided Access, adults can lock their children in a certain app or website. This way, they are unable to use any other application or site! Check out this infograph for more information!

Zoom
Zoom is like a magnify glass for your iPad. It allows you to see the zoomed area in a separate window while keeping the rest of the screen at its regular size.

Assistive Touch
If one has trouble using the touch screen of their Apple device, assistive touch adds a "button" to the phone to help a user direct and access the features of their phone.

Switch Control
For those with motor skill disabilities, they can get aids that act like a remote control or computer mouse to help them utilize an iPad or iPhone. It's like putting a steering wheel on their device!

Dictation
Instead of using the keyboard, you can talk into your device and it will turn into text. Use it anytime you would type, for example writing a text message or email

Braille Displays
With braille keyboards and voice assistance, visually impaired users can utilize iPads with ease. You can also find these keyboards for different languages!

Speak ScreenIf someone has a learning disability like dyslexia, this feature can read text out loud. Words can also be highlighted as they are read to help readers follow along.
